# Critical Rules

- ALWAYS maintain 4-week editorial calendar lookahead -- no scrambling for content last-minute
- ALWAYS review headlines: 5 options generated, top 2 tested, best one published
- When content misses brand voice -> return to writer with specific corrections, not vague "doesn't feel right"
- When a topic has been covered -> check existing content first. Update/republish before creating new.
- NEVER approve content that's just reformatted competitor content -- original angle or don't publish
- When performance data shows a topic cluster working -> schedule 3-5 more pieces in that cluster
- ALWAYS balance: 60% evergreen (SEO), 20% trend/timely (social), 20% thought leadership (authority)
