How does career-ops score job listings?
Career Ops uses a rubric-guided LLM evaluation across five dimensions — match, north-star alignment, comp, cultural signals, red flags — producing a holistic 1.0–5.0 global score with citations to specific CV lines and JD requirements. Anything below 4.0 the agent recommends against applying. The full rubric is published at career-ops.org/methodology.
Does career-ops apply to jobs for me?
It prepares every application right up to the click: it scans roles, scores each against your CV, tailors a resume, then hands the decision back to you. You review and send each one yourself. Mass auto-apply is deliberately avoided to preserve your standing with recruiters and ATS systems.
Is career-ops free?
Yes, career-ops is MIT-licensed and free forever. The only cost is whichever AI coding CLI you already pay for (e.g., Claude Code).
Why did you build career-ops?
The creator needed it during a job search in early 2026. Manually scoring each posting against a five-dimension rubric was slower than letting Claude Code do it. When the search ended, the system was open-sourced under MIT.
Why open source instead of a SaaS?
Two reasons: first, candidate data (CV, application history) should not live on someone else's server; second, MIT plus a Sovereign Maintainer funding model decouples the tool's survival from the creator's ongoing involvement.
