What is the difference between Pro and Business?
Pro is for individual developers and includes Zed-hosted AI models and unlimited Edit Predictions. Business is an org-level layer on top that provides admin controls over AI features, data sharing policies, and unified billing across seats.
Does Business include AI credits?
Business seats do not bundle a fixed LLM credit allotment. Users can use Zed-hosted AI at standard usage rates or bring their own API keys from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and others.
How does the free trial work?
Zed offers a two-week free trial of the Pro plan with $20 in token credits and unlimited accepted edit predictions. The trial ends after using up the prompts or two weeks, whichever comes first. Anthropic's Opus models are not available in the free trial.
What are tokens and how is Pro billed when credits are exceeded?
A token is a unit of text processed by an LLM (roughly 3–4 characters of English text). Once included monthly credits are used, additional token usage is billed at API list price +10%. Charges occur at the end of the month or for every additional $10 incurred, whichever comes first.
What admin controls are available in Business?
Business admins can restrict or disable Zed-hosted AI models by model, turn off Edit Predictions org-wide, and lock data sharing settings. SSO, SAML, and SCIM are planned but not currently available.
