About Master Claude for Legal
Master Claude for Legal is an open-source skill pack designed for legal teams using Claude (Anthropic's AI assistant). It enables users to set up Claude correctly for privileged legal work, customize the legal plugin, and ship production legal automation in an afternoon. The pack is built from both of Anthropic's 2026 public legal webinars (Claude for Legal Teams and How Legal Teams Put Claude to Work) and is maintained by HAQQ Legal AI.
The skill pack comes in four layers:
- Reference docs (15 documents): Covering the four-pillar architecture, four privilege layers, common vocabulary, MCP permission hardening, connector catalog (Box, Harvey, Thomson Reuters, Free Law Project, Courtroom5, etc.), 12 practice-area plugins, Microsoft 365 cross-surface integration (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), managed agents, cold-start customization, citation verification, agentic harness for long documents, practice-area patterns, a four-hour setup checklist, a skill-authoring guide, and production anti-patterns.
- Starter skills (6 working skills): NDA triage, multi-party version diff, tabular review (M&A diligence pattern), meeting brief, citation verifier, and status synthesis (Friday newsletter pattern). Each is a markdown file meant to be remixed for specific firm needs.
- Templates (3 documents): A firm AI policy template, a one-page client-facing data-handling explainer, and a vendor security questionnaire for legal-AI tools.
- Data: Full transcripts of both webinars, 51 audience questions from the April session with upvotes and themes, and machine-readable JSON for further analysis.
