FAQ
Why are my extensions not updating?
Updates may not work out of the box on GNOME 40 and certain older versions of GNOME 41 and 42 unless the official GNOME Extensions app is also installed. See the wiki for a workaround.
Can I use extensions that are not designed for my GNOME version?
Yes, you can disable GNOME Shell's version check via the gsetting command: gsettings set org.gnome.shell disable-extension-version-validation true. However, unsupported extensions may cause instability, so proceed at your own risk.
