About OpenDAN
OpenDAN (Open and Do Anything Now with AI) is an open-source Personal AI Operating System designed to consolidate various AI modules into a single, interoperable platform. It allows users to create and deploy powerful AI agents such as personal assistants, tutors, and digital companions, all while maintaining control over their data. Key features include Docker-based rapid deployment (compatible with PC, Mac, Raspberry Pi, NAS), support for switching large language models including local open-source models like LLaMa, and a suite of built-in agents: Personal Assistant Jarvis (schedule and communication management), Information Assistant Mia (personal data management and knowledge base creation), Private English Teacher Tracy, and ai_bash (natural language command-line interface). The system integrates with Telegram and Email for agent connectivity, enables the building of local private knowledge bases from files and email spiders, and supports agent collaboration through workflows (e.g., the story_maker workflow that generates audio fairy tale books using AIGC). As of version 0.5.1 (MVP), OpenDAN operates in an all-in-one mode with further OS kernel development planned. The project is actively developed and welcomes contributors.
