Rufus is a free, open-source utility for formatting and creating bootable USB flash drives. It supports a wide range of file systems (FAT, FAT32, NTFS, UDF, exFAT, ReFS, ext2/ext3) and can create BIOS or UEFI bootable drives from ISO images, disk images (including compressed ones), and built-in downloads of Windows 8/10/11 retail ISOs. It also offers advanced features such as Windows To Go creation, persistent Linux partitions, checksum verification, bad block detection, and OOBE parameter customization for Windows installations. Rufus is portable, requires no installation, and supports 38 languages.
