PikeOS
FreeA commercial micro-kernel based operating system with a small footprint and certified for DO-178 (avionics), IEC-61508 (industrial), ISO-26262 (automotive).
About PikeOS
PikeOS is a commercial real-time operating system (RTOS) and separation kernel-based Type 1 hypervisor designed for mission-critical embedded systems. It runs directly on hardware, creating hardware-enforced partitions that strictly isolate applications and guest operating systems (including ELinOS, Android, POSIX, and AUTOSAR) from one another. This enables mixed-criticality consolidation – allowing multiple legacy and modern systems to run on a single System-on-Chip (SoC) while maintaining strong safety and security guarantees. PikeOS is pre-certified by TÜV SÜD to the highest integrity levels: DO-178C DAL A (avionics), ECSS Cat. A (space), EN 50716 SIL 4 (railway), ISO 26262 ASIL D (automotive), and IEC 61508 SIL 3 (industrial), and its separation kernel holds Common Criteria EAL 5+ certification. It supports x86, ARM v7/v8, SPARC/LEON v8, PowerPC, and RISC-V architectures. Development is accelerated via the CODEO IDE with integrated QEMU simulation. As a European product, PikeOS is ITAR-free, enabling unrestricted global deployment.
