DeepSeek Janus

Janus is a series of open-source multimodal AI models (Janus, Janus-Pro, JanusFlow) that unify understanding and generation tasks. Janus decouples visual encoding into separate pathways for understanding and generation while using a single unified transformer. Janus-Pro improves upon Janus with an optimized training strategy, expanded training data, and larger model size (1B and 7B parameters). JanusFlow integrates rectified flow for image generation within the same autoregressive language model framework. The models achieve competitive or superior performance in multimodal understanding and text-to-image generation compared to specialized models.
