About Dolly By Databricks

Dolly By Databricks is a machine learning tool that helps users to create natural language understanding (NLU) applications. It uses the latest in artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) technology to generate natural language responses that make conversations more engaging and enjoyable. With Dolly, users can quickly deploy their own open models and leverage existing datasets to create interactive conversations with their customers. The intuitive interface and easy-to-use features make it simple to create custom NLU applications with minimal effort. Dolly By Databricks allows users to build custom applications that are capable of understanding customer conversations and responding with accurate, helpful, and relevant answers. By providing an efficient way to create and deploy NLU applications, Dolly makes it easy to create an engaging customer experience that can result in increased customer satisfaction.

FAQ

What is Dolly?

Dolly is an open-source large language model (LLM) developed by Databricks that exhibits ChatGPT-like instruction-following capabilities. It is built by fine-tuning a 6-billion-parameter model from EleutherAI on a small dataset of instruction examples.

How is Dolly different from ChatGPT?

Dolly is an open-source model with only 6 billion parameters, compared to ChatGPT's proprietary 175 billion parameters. It can be trained in 30 minutes on one machine, making it much cheaper and more accessible, though its output quality may not match ChatGPT's.

Is Dolly free to use?

Yes, Dolly is open-source. The initial Dolly model was released under a research license, and Dolly 2.0 is licensed for both research and commercial use.

How was Dolly trained?

Dolly was created by fine-tuning an existing open-source 6-billion-parameter model from EleutherAI on 50,000 instruction-following examples from the Alpaca dataset. The fine-tuning process takes about 30 minutes on a single machine.
