FAQ

How does the honesty check work?
After rewriting a CV to match a job description, AdaptMyCV runs the new text through a separate AI pass that compares it to your original CV. It flags any added skill, tool, company, number, date, degree, or seniority claim not supported by what you uploaded. A deterministic post-processor also checks for silently downgraded qualifications. The honesty check is advisory — it flags problems but does not block delivery, so you make the final decision.
Where does my data live?
AdaptMyCV runs on Hetzner Cloud servers in Helsinki, Finland. The SQLite database and per-job artifacts (uploaded and generated PDFs, structured CV data) all live on a single EU server. Daily encrypted backups are stored in a Hetzner Storage Box in the same data center. CV content is sent to OpenAI in the US for parsing and adaptation, but OpenAI is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and does not train models on API data.
Is there a free version?
Yes. You can check your ATS score for free without signing up. You can also build a CV from scratch using a clean form and four templates (Classic, Modern, Minimal, Executive) and download the PDF for free. Additionally, you can preview any tailored CV adaptation at no cost — you only pay to download the final PDF.
Can I cancel my monthly subscription?
Yes. The monthly plan can be canceled anytime with one click. One-time passes never auto-renew. Refunds are available within 24 hours for any unused balance.
What formats can I download?
The single CV adaptation is downloaded as an ATS-optimised PDF. For Word format and other options, you may need a pass or monthly plan. The 'Build a CV' feature also outputs PDF.
