NTSB removes docket after AI recreates dead pilots' voices
The National Transportation Safety Board temporarily removed public access to its docket system after discovering that voices of pilots killed in a UPS plane crash had been recreated using AI and were circulating online. The recreation used a spectrogram image from the cockpit voice recorder and a public transcript. The NTSB restored access but kept 42 investigations closed, including the UPS Flight 2976 case.
