Brag Slim: Build Launch Videos from a Project or URL
Launch video from a project or URL, upstream-maintained.
Written by Neura Market from the official Hermes Agent documentation for Brag Slim. Commands, paths, and version numbers are reproduced from the source unchanged.
Read the official documentationBrag Slim is an optional Hermes Agent skill that turns a project directory or a website URL into a finished launch video. It is the lean sibling of the brag skill, aimed at teams that want a short marketing clip without assembling a motion-graphics toolchain. Reach for it when you have a working product surface and need a shareable video quickly, not when you need narration or a bundled soundtrack.
What it does
/brag-slim is a single SKILL.md maintained upstream at latent-spaces/brag. It is written for Claude Opus 5.5 and deliberately omits Hyperframes and any bundled assets. The model handles the entire production itself: story, visuals, music, sound effects, mix, and render, using whatever tools are already present on the machine.
You point it at the current project directory or a website URL. It reuses the source's real UI, fonts, and assets rather than redrawing them, which keeps the video faithful to what you actually ship. The result is a brag-output/ directory containing the plan, the rendered video, and share copy.
Three options shape the output: --tone, --format landscape|vertical|square, and --duration.
Before you start
There is no fixed toolchain. The skill builds with whatever is installed, so the practical requirements depend on what you ask it to do. In practice you will want FFmpeg for the audio mix and encode, plus a headless browser to draw frames from HTML and to capture websites that render their page with JavaScript. That browser can be Node with Playwright or Puppeteer, or Chrome.
Install the skill on demand:
hermes skills install official/creative/brag-slim
This pulls the current file live from the upstream repo, quarantined and scanned like any hub install. The local directory holds only catalog metadata, so the vendored copy cannot go stale.
How it fits a workflow
Because the skill reuses real UI and fonts, the best inputs are projects with a stable, presentable interface. If your app is mid-redesign, the video will reflect that. If you are capturing a JavaScript-rendered site, the headless browser requirement is not optional: without it, the capture step has nothing to draw from.
The --format option covers the three common placements: landscape for site embeds and YouTube, vertical for short-form feeds, and square for social grids. --duration and --tone let you match the clip to the channel without rebuilding the story from scratch.
When not to use it
The source is explicit that brag is the fuller option. It adds the classic Hyperframes workflow, a bundled soundtrack and SFX, and --voice narration, subject to its own prerequisites. It also includes this skill and hands off to it on Opus 5.5. Choose brag-slim when you want the lean path and can supply your own music and sound design through the model's tooling; choose brag when you need narration or the bundled audio assets.
Limits and gotchas
- No bundled assets. Music and sound effects are generated or sourced by the model, not shipped with the skill.
- No Hyperframes. If your workflow depends on that pipeline, use
brag. - No
--voice. Narration is abragfeature. - The skill is upstream-maintained. The catalog entry is a stub; the actual
SKILL.mdlives in the upstream repo and is fetched at install time. - Toolchain is whatever is installed. Missing FFmpeg or a headless browser will block the audio mix, encode, or frame capture.
What pairs with it
Two related skills are worth knowing. brag is the full workflow with Hyperframes, bundled audio, and narration. hyperframes is the motion-graphics pipeline that brag-slim leaves out. If you later need either capability, install the corresponding skill rather than stretching this one.
