What This Skill Does
CLI tool that searches the web via Tavily's API and returns results with content snippets, relevance scores, and metadata. Supports configurable result count, search depth, topic filtering, domain inclusion/exclusion, and time range.
Replaces manual web scraping or generic search APIs by delivering LLM-optimized results with relevance scores and structured metadata.
When to Use It
- Search the web for recent news on a specific topic
- Retrieve high-relevance results for a research query using advanced depth
- Filter search results to include only trusted domains like docs.python.org
- Get content snippets for multiple queries in a data pipeline
- Find information from the past week using the time-range filter
- Perform a quick real-time search for autocomplete or chat responses

Tips
- Keep queries under 400 characters - Think search query, not prompt
- Break complex queries into sub-queries - Better results than one massive query
- Use
