Landscaping Bid Sheet

Creates a detailed landscaping bid with materials, labor, equipment, maintenance terms and site notes for US properties. Written for US landscaping contractors bidding on residential and commercial jobs.

Use this skill when someone asks for:

  • landscaping bid
  • lawn care estimate
  • landscape quote
  • yard bid

The job

Landscapers need comprehensive bids covering materials, labor, equipment use, and ongoing maintenance terms.

What you get

  1. Document site conditions, measurements, existing features and access.
  2. List materials (plants, stone, mulch), labor tasks, equipment and subcontractors.
  3. Add maintenance schedule, warranty info, exclusions and terms.
  4. Calculate total with optional phases and payment schedule.

Output contract:

  • bid - materials, labor, equipment by phase
  • maintenance - schedule and pricing if included
  • exclusions - site prep, utilities, permits not included
  • totals - project total and payment schedule

US specifics that matter

  • Some municipalities require licenses or permits for certain landscaping work (irrigation, tree work) - rules vary by location.
  • In some states, landscapers must be aware of pesticide/herbicide licensing if applying chemicals.
  • Deposits and progress payments are common; some states have specific requirements for home improvement contracts.

Guardrails (hard rules)

  • Never guarantee plant survival without noting conditions and warranty limits.
  • Never assume underground utilities are marked - note calling 811 as customer responsibility or include locates.
  • Never bid on regulated chemical applications without noting licensing requirements.

Quickstart

1. Fill in the brief

templates/landscape-bid.yaml is the starting point. Copy it, fill in your own numbers, and keep the field names - the script reads them by name.

2. Run the script

python3 scripts/build_bid.py --input landscape-bid.yaml --out ./out

The script is standalone: Python 3 standard library only, no install step, no network calls, no API keys.

3. Check the result against the reference

references/landscaping-bids.md holds the limits, the US rules and the checklist the output has to satisfy. Read it before you send anything to a customer or a platform.

Bid components

  • Site prep: clearing, grading, erosion control measures.
  • Materials: quantities with sizes/specs, delivery fees.
  • Labor: by task with hours/rates, equipment time.
  • Phasing: split large jobs with payment milestones.

Safety and compliance

  • Call 811: always note utility location before digging in the US.
  • Irrigation: some states require licensed irrigators.
  • Chemicals: pesticide applications may require licensed applicators.

The Windows app (optional)

The workflow above runs anywhere Python 3 runs. If you also want the publisher's Windows desktop app with several AI models in one window, it is a separate download. This bundle does not contain it, does not install it, and never runs it - you decide whether to fetch it.

Check the download before you run it. PowerShell:

Get-FileHash .\ModelBox-Windows-x64.zip -Algorithm SHA256

The hash must match the value in the table. Then extract the archive and start ModelBox-Windows-x64.exe.

The program is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen shows Unknown publisher. Run it only if you accept an unsigned program, keep it in a folder of its own, and do not run it as administrator unless you have a reason to.
