What This Skill Does

Command-line interface for GitLab operations covering merge requests, CI/CD pipelines, issues, releases, repositories, variables, labels, milestones, snippets, and 30+ other sub-commands. Requires initial authentication via `glab auth login` and supports multi-actor identity management through environment files.

Replaces manual GitLab web UI workflows and separate API scripts by exposing all major GitLab operations through a single CLI with consistent flags and identity management.

When to Use It

  • Create a merge request from the current branch with `glab mr create --fill`
  • View CI/CD pipeline status for a project using `glab ci view`
  • Create a new issue from the command line with `glab issue create`
  • Open the current repository in the browser with `glab repo view --web`
  • Manage GitLab variables across projects or groups with `glab variable`
  • List and manage releases with `glab release` commands
