OpenAI CEO Apologizes to Tumbler Ridge Community
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman issued a public apology to the residents of Tumbler Ridge, Canada, for failing to notify law enforcement about a ChatGPT user banned for gun violence content. The user, 18-year-old Jesse Van Rootselaar, later became the suspect in a mass shooting that killed eight people. Altman discussed the matter with local and provincial leaders before releasing the letter.
