Download & Merge Multiple PDFs from URLs with CustomJS API
Downloads multiple PDF files from public URLs, merges them into one using CustomJS PDF Toolkit, and saves to disk. Ideal for bundling reports or invoices efficiently.
This n8n workflow automates the process of fetching multiple PDF files from specified public URLs, processing them individually, and combining them into a single merged PDF document using the CustomJS PDF Toolkit community node. It starts with a Manual Trigger, followed by a Code node that defines an array of PDF URLs. The Split Out node enables concurrent processing of each URL, where an HTTP Request node downloads the PDF binary data. All downloaded files are then merged via the Merge PDF node from @custom-js/n8n-nodes-pdf-toolkit, and the final output is written to disk using the Write to Disk node.
Key benefits include significant time savings for repetitive document bundling tasks, support for concurrent downloads to handle large batches quickly, and seamless integration with self-hosted n8n instances via community nodes. It requires a free CustomJS account and API key for credentials, ensuring secure and scalable PDF operations without local libraries.
Perfect use cases: generating consolidated report sets from web sources, merging invoices or receipts for accounting, creating document packages for clients, or archiving fitness plans/PDF guides (under Lifestyle/Fitness). Easily customizable by replacing the trigger with webhooks or adjusting output handling for API responses.
