Markdown Timesheet Report Generator

This n8n workflow generates professional HTML timesheet reports from input data containing user names, tasks, dates, and hours. It begins with a manual trigger, sorts the data by username, task title, and date for organized presentation, then uses a custom Function node to build a comprehensive Markdown string. This includes a styled header, custom CSS for tables (with borders, alternating row colors, and headers), and a dynamic table aggregating data by user and task.

The Function node processes items iteratively, tracking current users and tasks to sum hours accurately and generate sectioned tables. The resulting Markdown is fed into the Markdown node, which converts it to a fully-formed HTML document with options for tables, line breaks, and complete HTML structure. The output HTML can be downloaded directly from the canvas or attached to emails.

Ideal for teams tracking billable hours, freelancers managing client reports, or managers needing weekly summaries. Benefits include time savings on manual reporting, consistent formatting, and no coding required beyond n8n. Enhances productivity in project management by automating what would otherwise be spreadsheet exports and formatting tasks.
