Server Disk Usage Monitor with SMS Alerts

Monitors Linux server disk usage twice daily via cron, alerts via Twilio SMS if over 80% full, preventing data loss and downtime.

n8n
Server Disk Usage Monitor with SMS Alerts

This n8n workflow automates server hard disk space monitoring on Linux hosts. It uses a Cron node to trigger checks at 9 AM and 4 PM daily. The Execute Command node runs 'df -k / | tail -1 | awk '{print $5}' to fetch the root filesystem usage percentage.

An IF node evaluates if usage exceeds 80%. If true, a Twilio node sends an SMS alert with the exact usage percentage to a specified phone number. If false, a NoOp node handles the else path silently.

Benefits include proactive server health monitoring, reducing risks of disk full errors that cause application crashes or data corruption. Ideal for sysadmins managing VPS, dedicated servers, or cloud instances. Easy to customize trigger times, threshold, or integrate with other notification services. Saves hours of manual checks and prevents costly outages.
